To let your friends on Facebook see who you're related to, add your sisters, brothers, sons, daughters, mothers, fathers, wives, husbands, boyfriends, girlfriends, or people you're dating to your Facebook profile. How to Change Your Family and Relationships in Facebook Adding family members is quick, but you have to wait for a confirmation from the person before the process is complete: Click on Profile at the top of your Facebook page to go to your own Facebook profile. It's the one with your profile photo and name. Click on the About tab. Select Family and Relationships in the left column of the screen that appears. Click Add a family member. Enter the name of your family member in the field provided. The person's Facebook profile photo will appear as you type if he or she is on your Friends list. Click the arrow next to Choose Relationship and select from the large selection of traditional family relationships and gender-neutral relationships in the drop-down menu. If you don't want everyone to see your family relationships, click the arrow next to Public and change the privacy setting. Click More Options in the Public list to choose a group for your family member. Facebook supplies Family and Close Friends groups, among others, but you'll also see any groups you have created in the list. Click Family or a different designation. Click Save Changes. Facebook sends a notification to your family member that you want to add him or her to your Family list (or whichever list you indicated). The person must confirm the relationship before it shows up on your profile. The Family and Relationships section is also where you add or change your relationship status. Just click Change my relationship status at the top of the screen and make a choice from the drop-down menu that appears.
