If you love taking self portraits, DailyBooth is the place to be. There are a lot of websites and apps out there like Flickr, Photobucket, Instagram and others that are great for taking photos and sharing them, but if you’re looking for a true photoblogging platform that uses both web and mobile platforms, DailyBooth is worth checking out.

What Is DailyBooth?

DailyBooth is a social networking website designed to encourage users to take a picture of themselves everyday with added captions. DailyBooth explains itself to be “one big conversation about your life, through pictures.”

Users can share stories about themselves and their lives in real-time through photos. It’s quite similar to other social networks like Twitter and Tumblr, and is generally geared slightly more toward teenagers or young adults.

How to Start Using DailyBooth

Using DailyBooth is as easy as signing for almost any other website. Here’s how to sign up and get started.

Sign up for a free account: Like nearly almost every other social network, the first thing you need to do is create a free account at DailyBooth.com, which only requires a username, an email address and a password.

Find friends: After signing up, DailyBooth will give you a variety of options to start looking for friends. Browse through your Facebook, Twitter or Gmail networks to see who else is already on DailyBooth. You can also connect and sign in through Facebook, Twitter or Gmail.

Follow suggested users: DailyBooth will pull up a list of users as a suggestion for you to follow them. You can follow as many as you like, or skip this step if you don’t want to follow any of them.

DailyBooth Features

If you’re already familiar with using Twitter, you’ll find a lot of similarities with the DailyBooth platform. Here are the main features you’ll see on your DailyBooth dashboard.

Snap a Pic: At the top of the page, three main options are given. When you press “Snap a Pic,” the site automatically tries to detect your webcam, if you have one. You may need to configure your camera settings or even your Adobe Flash Player settings in order to take a photo.

Upload a Pic: If you already have a photo stored on your computer, choose this option to upload it to DailyBooth. Simply choose the file, add a caption, select whether or not you want it to be shared on Facebook or Twitter and then press “Publish.”

Live Feed: This shows all the users on DailyBooth that are uploading photos in real-time. They don’t just include the users you follow--the include everybody. There’s no need to refresh the page since it does it automatically for you as new users publish their photos.

Viewing DailyBooth Activity and Interaction

There’s another menu below the main menu on the dashboard, featuring options like Everything, Booths, @Username, Likes, Comments and more. You can shift between these to see whatever photos the people you follow are posting, and any conversations or interactions you get from other users on your own stuff.

Extra Stuff

Don’t forget to customize your profile by going to “You” in the top right corner, choosing “Settings” and then choosing the “Personal” tab. You also have a notifications option, a list of your followers and a private messages section--all of which can be found using the icons on the top right.

DailyBooth Mobile Apps

DailyBooth only has an official mobile app for the iOS at this time, compatible with the iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad using iOS 4.1 or higher. You can download from iTunes, here. This is a great option for users that use their iPhones to take most pictures.

There isn’t an official Android DailyBooth app, but there is a DailyBooth client called Boothr that connects to the DailyBooth API and can be used to upload photos easily.
