MobileMe and the mac.com domain were transitioned and replaced by iCloud, and their services ceased as of June 30, 2012. If you had a working @mac.com email address as of July 9, 2008, kept your MobileMe account active and moved to iCloud before August 1, 2012, you can use @icloud.com, @me.com, and @mac.com email addresses with your iCloud account.

What Were the MobileMe Mail Me.com SMTP Settings

The MobileMe SMTP server settings to send mail using an @me.com MobileMe Mail from any email program (or service) were:

  • MobileMe Mail Me.com SMTP server address: smtp.me.com
  • MobileMe Mail Me.com SMTP user name: Your MobileMe Mail user name (precedes "@me.com" in your MobileMe Mail address; if your MobileMe Mail email address is "example@me.com," the user name is "example")
  • MobileMe Mail Me.com SMTP password: Your MobileMe Mail password
  • MobileMe Mail Me.com SMTP port: 587
  • MobileMe Mail Me.com SMTP TLS/SSL required: yes
