The MobileMe Mail SMTP server settings were used by Apple's discontinued MobileMe suite of online services, used to send email from a MobileMe Mail account through an email client.

The mac.com domain predated the July 2008 relaunch of Apple's web services as MobileMe by several years. All services were transitioned and replaced by iCloud and the service ceased as of June 30, 2012, with transfers to iCloud available until July 31, 2012.

Tip: See the iCloud Mail IMAP and SMTP server settings if you want up-to-date server settings for your newer Apple email account.

What Were the MobileMe Mail and Mac.com SMTP Settings

  • MobileMe Mail Mac.com SMTP server address: smtp.mac.com
  • MobileMe Mail Mac.com SMTP username: Your MobileMe Mail username
  • MobileMe Mail Mac.com SMTP password: Your MobileMe Mail password
  • MobileMe Mail Mac.com SMTP port: 587
  • MobileMe Mail Mac.com SMTP TLS/SSL required: yes

Tip: The username is what precedes "@mac.com" in your MobileMe Mail address. For instance, if your MobileMe Mail email address is "example@mac.com", "example" is the username.

iCloud Email Addresses

  • If you created an iCloud account on or after September 19, 2012, your email address ends with @icloud.com.
  • If you created an iCloud account before September 19, 2012, or moved to iCloud with an active MobileMe account before August 1, 2012, you have both @me.com and @icloud.com email addresses.
  • If you had a working @mac.com email address as of July 9, 2008, kept your MobileMe account active and moved to iCloud before August 1, 2012, you can use @icloud.com, @me.com, and @mac.com email addresses with your iCloud account.
