About Veoh

Founded by Dmitry Shapiro, a serial entrepreneur with experience in communities, video, and peer-to-peer protocols, Veoh officially launched in 2007. After the company's 2010 bankruptcy, it was acquired by Qlipso, and then later sold to its current owner, the FC2 blogging host.

Veoh was at one time a worthy video sharing platform, but was eventually overtaken by alternatives like Vimeo and YouTube. The website still works, and users can and still do submit new content, but it's simply not what it used to be, and is overrun by adult-style videos and lots of ads.
