How to Set up Yahoo Mail Auto-Reply

Send automatic replies from your Yahoo Mail while on vacation

While you are on vacation, you may also want to take a break from email. Yahoo Mail can automatically reply to incoming emails by informing the sender not to expect an answer right away.

Instructions in this article apply to the web versions of Yahoo Mail. All steps should be the same regardless of your web browser.

How to Set up a Vacation Auto-Reply in Yahoo Mail

To have Yahoo Mail reply to emails automatically while you're out of the office:

  1. Select the gear in the upper-right corner of Yahoo Mail.

    Use the toolbar to apply text formatting to your auto-response.

  7. To send an alternate message to senders who share a domain, scroll down and select the box beside Send a different response to specific domains, then enter the required information.

  8. Select Save.

Yahoo Mail will remember who has already received an auto-reply, so repeat senders will see just one message.

How to Set up a Vacation Auto-Reply in Yahoo Mail Basic

To configure Yahoo Mail Basic to reply to incoming messages automatically:

  1. Select Account Info in the upper-right corner of Yahoo Mail Basic.

  2. Select Options from the drop-down menu, then select Go.
