How to Use Pixel Buds With iPhone

Pair them with iPhone like any other Bluetooth device

What to Know

  • The Pixel Buds are made for Android, but you can pair them to iPhone like any other Bluetooth headphones and use them the same way.
  • Put your Buds in pairing mode and on your phone, go to Settings > Bluetooth and select your Buds under Other Devices.

This article explains how to use the Googe Pixel Buds headphones with iPhone, but these instructions will apply to other iOS devices, too.

You can't use the Google-specific features, like Adaptive Sound or the voice-activated Google Assistant, but other features like touch gestures will work on iPhone.

How to Connect Pixel Buds to iPhone

Make sure you have your Google Buds (in their case) and your iPhone at the ready, and your iPhone's Bluetooth needs to be turned on so you can pair it to your Buds.

Once you have everything, pairing your Buds to your iPhone only takes a couple of seconds!

  1. Put your Buds in your case, and place the case next to your iPhone.

  2. Open the Pixel Buds case, and press and hold the pairing button located on the back of the case. Hold this button down until you see the LED on the front of the case start blinking, indicating the Buds have entered pairing mode.

  3. On your iPhone (with Bluetooth enabled) go to Settings > Bluetooth and under Other Devices tap the listing for the Pixel Buds.

  4. After a moment, your Pixel Buds will now be paired with your iPhone. The Buds will work like any other Bluetooth headphones.

Much like how the Pixel Buds can be connected over Bluetooth to iPhone, other devices outside of the Android umbrella will work with the Pixel Buds in the same way: If it supports Bluetooth pairing of headphones, chances are the Pixel Buds with work it.

  • Double-tap to skip a song or end a call.
  • Triple-tap to go back to the previous song.
  • Swipe forward to turn the volume up.
