The Cambridge Audio TV5 Speaker Base is a single unit audio system that is designed to enhance your TV's sound, as well as provide a place to set your TV on top of. As a supplement to my full review of the TV5 I am also including this close-up photo profile.

To start, here's a look at Cambridge Audio TV5 Speaker Base is a top view of the of the unit, which its included accessories and documentation.

Starting on the bottom left is the Safety Instruction Brochure, and taking ​the bulk of the photo is the multi-language set of Quick Start Instructions.

Sitting on top of the Quick Start Instructions are the accessories provided with the TV5 Speaker Base.

First is the Remote Control (you will see a close-up view of the remote at the end of this report).

Just to the left of the remote are its batteries and moving down the same section is an analog stereo cable (3.5mm version) and a Digital Optical cable.

Moving to the right - at the top is the external automatic voltage adjustable power supply, along with three different power cables with plugs that can be used in various regions of the world.

With the exception of a standard RCA-type Audio connection cable, Cambridge Audio everything you need to get you started.

Starting on top is a front view of the TV5 Speaker with removable speaker grill attached.

Moving down to the second photo is a front view of the TV5 Speaker Base that reveals the left and right BMR speaker drivers as well as the LED status light, remote control sensor, and onboard controls, all of which are located in the center of the front panel.

The bottom image is a rear view of the TV5, which reveals ports on the left and right side, which are designed to provide additional low frequency extension, and the connection panel located on the left side of the rear panel (but to the right of the left port), which includes the audio input connections.

Here is a look at the bottom of the TV5 Speaker Base, which shows both the four support feet, as well as the two 6.5-inch downfiring subwoofers.

Here is a look at the LED Status Display and onboard Controls of the Cambridge Audio TV5 Speaker Base, which is normally hidden behind the speaker (the LED display shines through the speaker grill)>

The LED Status display set behind the front speaker grill and displays in an amber color. The blue circle on the right is the Remote Control Sensor.

As you can also see, the only controls provided on the unit (the rest are on the remote) are the Volume Up and Down buttons, along with inscribed instructions on how to make these control settings work with a universal remote control.

Shown in this photo is a close-up of audio input connections provided on the Cambridge Audio TV5 Speaker Base.

Starting on the left is power supply connection receptacle.

Moving to the cent of the photo is a set of Analog RCA-type Stereo inputs, and to the right of that, is an additional 3.5mm stereo audio input connection (labeled AUX In).

Finally, moving right is a Digital Optical audio input.

Also, in addition to the physical connections shown, the TV5 Speaker Base also incorporates Bluetooth capability, which allows wireless streaming of audio content from compatible portable devices, such as smartphones and tablets.

Here is a photo of the wireless remote control provided with the Cambridge Audio TV5 Speaker Base.

On the top center of the remote is the power on/off button.

Moving down to the next row the AUX and OPT (digital optical) source selection buttons.

Moving down to the next section are the EQ setting buttons for Music, TV, Film, and Video, and in the center is the Mute button.

Just below EQ setting and Mute buttons are the Bluetooth Source and Pairing Buttons.

Finally, the last row of buttons are for adjusting the volume level of the TV5.

The remote is compact and clearly, which makes it easy to hold and read in bright on dimly lit rooms. However, it is not backlit so using it in a darkened room may be difficult for some.

More...

The TV5 can be used with LCD, Plasma, or OLED TVs - as long as the TV's own stand is not larger than the TV5 Speaker Base platform dimensions (28.54 x 3.94 x 13.39 inches).
