Facebook Live is a feature on Facebook that allows users to broadcast themselves on video in real time. You might notice that whenever a friend or a Page you follow goes Live, you receive a notification encouraging you to tune in.

Unfortunately, Live videos aren't always convenient and notifications for them can be nothing but a distraction. You can turn off Live notifications right across your Facebook network or turn them off for individual friends and Pages.

How to Turn off Facebook Live Notifications for an Individual Friend or Page

You can only turn off Live notifications for individual friends or Pages from one of their Live video posts — either during the time that they're Live or from a recently ended Live video by locating a [Name] was Live post.

  1. Find the Live video post for the friend or Page. For example, you could spot in your News Feed or find it by navigating to their profile or Page.

You can tell that a friend or a Page is currently Live by looking for the red LIVE label in the top left corner of the video.

  2. Select or tap the three horizontal dots in the top right corner of the Live video post.
