Taylor has written game reviews for online publications, including IndieHangover and GameSkinny, as well as for her own website: Steam Shovelers.
She has owned and operated Steam Shovelers since March of 2017 and has edited dozens of articles by freelance journalists from around the world. She also runs the Steam Shovelers Twitch channel, which focuses on live game impressions and provides advice on how to build and upgrade gaming PCs and livestreaming setups.
Previously Taylor work with MTD Products, assembling and repairing robotic, riding, and push lawn mowers. After that, she started at Trademark Global, writing marketing and review copy for a variety of home goods. She also runs a small photography studio with her wife where they mainly do family portraits.
My main PC set up is a custom-built, Windows-based desktop. Originally built in 2015, I've been slowly upgrading the build as my needs change. It currently contains: AMD Vishera FX-6300 CPU, 16GB of DDR3 RAM, a GeForce GTX 1060 4GB video card, EVGA NEX650G 80 Plus Gold power supply, and an ASUS M5A99FX Pro R2.0 motherboard. I run a dual monitor set-up with two Philips 276E 27" monitors. My streaming set-up includes a Logitech C920 HD webcam, Blue Yeti microphone, and two professional studio lights.
Along with my desktop, I use an ASUS Q11306 laptop as well as a 2013 Macbook Pro for mobile work. I also have a Playstation 4, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo New 3DS for console and handheld gaming.
Along with gaming and streaming, I also do digital photography. I currently use both a Canon EOS Rebel T6 and EOS Rebel T7 DSLR cameras. I use both a 35-55mm and 75-300mm lens with each camera for portrait and landscape shots. I also use a variety of neutral density, polarizing, and UV filters with the lenses to create greater color saturation and contrast. To edit photos, I use a combination of Photoshop Lightroom and several mobile apps including Lightroom Mobile.
Taylor graduated from Tiffin University in 2011 with a B.A. in English and a minor in creative writing.
