Tango uses 4G, 5G, and wifi connections to let you make video calls to colleagues, family, and friends. Available for Android, iPhone, iPad, PC, and Windows Phone, the diversity of the Tango app ensures that you can use it to talk to almost anyone you know. It's free to download and free to use, so keep reading to learn how to make video calls with Tango. Getting Started To get started with Tango, download the app to the device you want to use to make a video call. If you're using a mobile device, you'll find Tango in the respective app store for your device. To download Tango to your PC, click the link on the Tango website and the download will begin automatically. Setting up Tango on Your PC After you've downloaded Tango, launch the SetupTango.exe file to install the program. Next, Tango will ask you to provide your mobile phone number. By doing this, your friends and family can search for you using your phone number even if you're connected to a desktop device. If you also have Tango on your mobile device, you'll receive a verification code within the mobile app that lets you sync your PC with your mobile device. This lets Tango keep your contacts the same, send the same messages to both devices at once, and keep both devices updated with your recent activity. Unfortunately, Tango does not have a client for Mac computers and has formally announced that they don't plan on developing one. If you're a PC user, Tango will work wonderfully on your computer, but if you're a Mac user, you can only use Tango on your iPad or iPhone. The Tango Mobile App Once you've downloaded the Tango mobile app to your phone, launch the application. To get started with Tango you'll have the option to sign in with your Facebook account or to use your mobile phone number. If the majority of the people you want to contact Tango are saved in your phone contacts, it's a good idea to link your phone number to the app. Next, add a valid email address and edit your Profile — this will be what your contacts see when they call you. Last but not least, make sure your phone is set up to receive notifications from Tango so you can receive calls. Make a Video Call To make a video call with Tango, go to the Friends tab. There, you'll see all of your phone contacts that also use Tango — these are the people you can call with the app. If you want to call a friend that doesn't appear in this list, use the Invite feature to get them started with the app. Choose a contact, and you'll be routed to the "Friend Details" section. This menu includes all of the ways you can contact your friend for free — with a video call, phone call, or chat. Click video call, and Tango will automatically activate your device's camera. As long as your friend receives notifications from Tango they'll hear your incoming call, and the video chat will begin! Video Chat Features Once you're video chatting, you'll have access to a menu of fun features to make your call interactive. The games tab lets you challenge your friends to games while you're on a video call. In addition, you can send personalized animations to your contacts during a call or in a video message. Last but not least, Tango lets you access your camera roll so you can share photos and videos with friends in real-time. Nominated for a 2013 Webby award, Tango is a diverse app that saves users money on communication while providing a rich media experience.
