In addition to serving as a contributing how-to technical writer for Lifewire, Susan is a technical writer specializing in business to business technology. Her articles about artificial intelligence, virtual containers, Big Data, iOT, blockchain, bioinformatics, virtual machines have been published in Entrepreneur, Forbes, InformationWeek and numerous websites.
Susan started blogging in 2006 for SheKnows media and has written blogs for Disney, LG, Kelloggs, GE, Gatorade, ABC, EA Sports Active, Newman’s Own and V8. Her articles have been re-posted on LifeHacker, TipNut, Apartment Therapy and Rookie Moms.
As a journalism graduate, and a love for business, Susan started her career by looking for ways to turn the achievements of businesses into success stories that would be sought by the news media. Her first published business success story revealed how a welding manufacturing company's filler metals would ensure Comisky Park could be re-built during Chicago's bitter winter so that the new park would be ready for the season opener that spring.
Part of the work of fishing out a story requires Susan to work with highly skilled and technically savvy people, and she quickly became fascinated by the challenge of extracting complex information into down-to-earth stories that could be enjoyed by non-technical readers.
Susan holds a BA in Journalism from Ohio State University where she received the Hugh Blair award, The Scripps Howard Journalism Award and the Sullivant & Yoder award for writing.
Susan is also an accomplished concert pianist and received several educational performance awards.
"The latest breakthroughs in technology have the potential they have to make our lives more productive, efficient and uncomplicated. I realize not everyone shares this enthusiasm. As a writer, I focus on taking some of the mystery out of technology so that others will not feel so intimated and become willing to try something new."
