How to Live Stream the Golden Globes (2021)

You don't need cable to watch the awards ceremony

The Golden Globe Awards, bestowed by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, is one of the most popular Hollywood awards shows. With your favorite stars drinking champagne and mingling with famous friends, the Golden Globes are livelier and less formal than the Academy Awards and other events.

If you're on the go or don't have cable, there's no need to miss out on the fun. It's easy to watch the Golden Globes online or live stream the event from your smartphone, computer, tablet, or even a compatible streaming device.

How to Watch the Golden Globes Live Stream

NBC has exclusive rights to the Golden Globes and there are a variety of ways to watch the show.

The NBC App is available for iOS and Android, making it easy to stream the Golden Globes to your smartphone or tablet. Additionally, the NBC App works with devices such as the Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV, Android TV, Roku, Samsung TV, and Xbox. You can even use the NBC app with your Amazon Echo or Alexa when you add the skill.

NBC Online

With your TV provider login, watch the Golden Globes on NBC Live. Last year, the show aired on NBC's Facebook Page, but the network hasn't yet announced if it will be repeating this.

To watch live streaming television on, or via an NBC app, you'll need a TV provider subscription.

Other Ways to Stream the Golden Globes

You can live stream NBC from subscription services you may or may not already have to watch the Golden Globes. Consider a free trial to test out a service and see if it's a good fit for you.

All of these services include NBC if you live in an area where the local NBC affiliate allows streaming.

AT&T TV Now, formerly called DirecTV Now, includes CBS, Fox, NBC, and ESPN.

Hulu + Live TV includes CBS, Fox, NBC, and ESPN. A 30-day free trial is offered.

YouTube TV offers live streaming, on-demand TV, and an online digital DVR recorder. YouTubeTV gives you access to CBS, Fox, NBC, and ESPN. There is a free trial offered.

Sling TV offers services for on-demand and live-stream television programming. Sling TV is available only in select markets, however. A free trial is available.

FuboTV, which also offers a free trial, includes CBS, Fox, NBC, and the NFL Network.

If the Official NBC Live Stream Isn't Available

If you live in an area where NBC isn't available through the NBC website or any of the online streaming services, there is no official way for you to stream the Golden Globes.

There are unofficial ways to stream live events like the Golden Globes, however, including Ace Stream. To use something like the Ace Stream application, you'll need to wait until the day of the ceremony and then search the internet for an Ace Stream content ID that features the Golden Globes.

Only use Ace Stream Content IDs from trusted sources. When searching for this type of content, use a good ad blocker and avoid clicking on misleading advertisements. Use these programs at your own risk.

Using a VPN to Watch the Golden Globes Online

Online television streaming providers are region-locked, but you can sometimes get around this by using a virtual private network (VPN). This doesn't always work, and some streaming providers require both your billing address and the physical location of your device to correspond to the same ZIP code or city.

Live Stream the Golden Globes Pre-Show

The Golden Globes red-carpet pre-show, with its fabulous and not-so-fabulous fashion and interviews, is almost as popular as the awards show itself. Watch the pre-show online from any of the streaming and viewing options listed above starting at 6 p.m. ET. Last year's pre-show was broadcast on Facebook, but this viewing option hasn't yet been announced. Keep an eye out for Instagram pre-show coverage, as well.
