Set four years after the events of the last StarCraft expansion, Brood War, it is the first release in a planned trilogy of games that will feature each of the three factions in a single-player story campaign. Wings of Liberty begins with the human Terran faction and shows a future depiction of humans in the StarCraft Universe set in the 25th century. The single-player story campaign includes a total of 26 missions which takes players through the various unit types and strategies of gameplay. Some of these missions are required to move the story forward while others are purely optional. The multiplayer portion of Starcraft II Wings of Liberty is where the strategic balance of the top real-time strategy game shines. Players will choose from one of the three StarCraft races (Terran, Protoss or Zerg), and battle in online multiplayer skirmishes with up to 8 players. StarCraft II Wings of Liberty also improves upon the proven gameplay mechanics from StarCraft and provides just the right blend of action and strategy to make it one of the best real-time strategy games ever released. The second chapter in the series, StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm was released in 2013 and covers the Zerg faction in the single-player story campaign while adding new units for all factions in the multiplayer game mode. The final title in the trilogy, StarCraft II: Legacy of the Void centers around the Protoss faction and was released in November 2015. Was this page helpful? Thanks for letting us know!
