Regardless, the official song list that Electronic Arts has released for SKATE is both diverse and impressive. With artists ranging from The White Stripes to Agent Orange to Bad Brains to David Bowie, EA has managed to represent almost every genre of music that has any sort of edge in SKATE. At the same time, while we are fans of devolution since when have the coneheads ever been a "skater" band? The SKATE soundtrack features 45 songs from some of the most influential and celebrated artists including David Bowie, Nirvana, N.W.A., Booker T & The MG's, Black Flag, Devo, Eric B & Rakim, Motorhead, Slayer and The Ramones. The game also includes 18 exclusive tracks from XXXChange, Tommy Guerrero, and other DJs. Steve Schnur, Worldwide Executive of Music and Marketing at EA (note to self, next time we try to take on Tony Hawk, hire a famous skater to speak rather than a corporate suit) had the following to say about the music featured in SKATE, which was released on September 17, 2007: Skateboard Culture The soundtrack for SKATE is a direct reflection of true outlaw skateboard culture (skateboarding is not a crime! - ed.). It's a throwback to the days of underground skateboard videos when skaters created their own soundtracks that raided every genre of music. In that spirit, we talked to hardcore skaters around the country to help pick many of the songs for SKATE. Real recognizes real, and this soundtrack is a straight-up tribute to a culture like no other. We leave it to you to decide how really "real" SKATE's soundtrack is: Artist-Song Agent Orange - No Such ThingAirbourne - Let's RideBad Brains - I Against IBand of Horses - The FuneralBeat Beat Beat - Sinking SlowBlack Flag - Six PackBooker T & The MG's - Green OnionsChallenger - Input the OutputCheap Trick - SurrenderChildren of Bodom - Hate Crew DeathrollDavid Bowie - Queen B****Dead Prez - Hip HopDevo - Gut Feeling/Slap Your MammyEddie Rap Life - Push Your WoodEric B & Rakim - Juice (Know the Ledge)Escalera - Go It AloneFilthy Thieving Ba****** - ...Lords Of The AvenuesGang Starr - Now You're MineH.I.T - DramaMac Mall - Perfect PoisonMotorhead - We Are MotorheadNirvana - Lounge ActN.W.A - Express YourselfRenee Renee - Stand Up Talk EasyRick James - Give It To Me BabyRick Ross - Hustlin'River City - Tanlines Black KnightS.T.R.E.E.T.S - Georgia St.Sicker Than Others - Face AwaySister Nancy - Bam BamSlayer - Raining BloodThe Briefs - Poor and WeirdThe Coup - Ride the FenceThe Dwarves - MassacreThe Exploding Hearts - Your ShadowThe Falcon - BlackoutThe Mag Seven - D*** CemeteryThe Ramones Psycho - TherapyThe Returnables - Teenage ImpostersThe Sex Pistols - Pretty VacantThe Stars Misplaced - Prophets And KingsThe White Stripes - Girl, You Have No Faith In MedicineTrouble Andrew - Chase MoneyValient Thorr - Man Behind The CurtainZZ Top - Just Got Paid SKATE was developed by EA Black Box in Vancouver, British Columbia and released in Autumn 2007.
