How to Use Miracast in Windows 10

Set up wireless screen mirroring in minutes

Miracast is a software alternative to stringing cables in order to show the contents of your screen onto another screen. Here's how to set up and use Miracast on Windows 10.

What Is Miracast and What Does It Do?

Miracast is a standard technology that allows devices such as smartphones, tablets, and laptops to create wireless connections between themselves and external displays like monitors and Smart TVs. You could almost consider it like a wireless version of an HDMI connection, except the use of a connecting cable is not required.

Miracast is built into most devices and has been included on PCs since Windows 8.1 was introduced. Using this program, you can send an HD video of 1080p and also 5.1 surround sound, which should easily meet your needs.

Even though your Windows 10 PC comes with Miracast pre-installed, it needs to be updated to the latest version in order to work effectively.
