If you want to send a playlist to someone, the best way to do so is by obtaining the Spotify playlist link. Here's how to send a playlist to someone via the Spotify desktop player.

  1. Open Spotify.

  2. In the left pane, select the playlist you want to share.

  4. Hover over Share.

  5. Select Copy link to playlist to copy the link to your clipboard.

  6. Paste the link into an email, messaging app, or other service on your PC or Mac to share it.

How To Make a Collaborative Playlist on Spotify

If you want to share a Spotify playlist with only one person, it's a good idea to make it a collaborative playlist so you can both share your favorite songs in the same place. Here's how to do it.

You can't make a collaborative playlist using the Spotify web player. You must use the Spotify app for desktops or phones.

  1. Open Spotify and select Create Playlist in the side panel to start a new playlist, or choose an existing playlist. A collaborative playlist must be one you created.

  2. Underneath the playlist name, select the three dots.

    If you create a new list, it's a good idea to rename the playlist by double-clicking on the temporary name.

  3. Select Invite Collaborators to copy the link to the clipboard.

  4. Send the copied link to the friend you want to collaborate with. After your friend accepts, they can listen to the music you put in the playlist and add new music to it.

How Do I Share a Spotify Playlist From My Phone?

If you prefer to share a Spotify playlist through your phone, the process is similar to the desktop app. Here's how to send a Spotify playlist link via your smartphone.

  1. Open the Spotify app and tap Your Library.

  2. Select Playlists. Tap the playlist you want to share.

  4. Tap Share.

  5. Choose how to share the playlist. There are options for copying the link and sharing it via common apps you may have installed, such as WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram, Messages, etc.

How Do I Share My Spotify With Friends?

If you want to share your Spotify account with your friends, you have two options. 

  • Spotify Duo lets you share an account with one person in the same household.
  • Spotify Premium lets six people in the same household share an account.

You can't legally share Spotify with someone who does not live with you.

A better option is to share playlists with friends who use a free Spotify account rather than have both of you sign up for a Spotify Premium account.
