This article explains how to add Amazon Prime profiles to your account from the website and the mobile app, and how to use them once they're set up. Scroll to the bottom of this article to learn how Prime Video profiles work. How to Create Prime Video Profiles In addition to the profile you start with, and the profiles of any Amazon Household members that you have added to your Prime account, you can create additional adult and child profiles through the Amazon website. Navigate to amazon.com/gp/video/profiles, and click Add New. If creating a profile for a child, click the kid's profile toggle. If not creating a profile for a child, leave the toggle alone. Enter a name for the profile, and click Save Changes. Your new profile will now be accessible on your devices. Setting Up Prime Video Profiles on Mobile If you don't have easy access to a computer, you can also set up profiles directly through the app you use to watch Prime Video. Here's how to set up new profiles using the Prime Video app on your phone. Launch the Prime Video app, and select My Stuff. Tap the name of the current profile. Tap Create profile. Enter a name for the profile, and tap Save. The new profile will now be available on all of your devices. How to Use Amazon Profiles Once you have two or more Amazon Video profiles set up, you can freely switch between them on any of your devices. The exception is that if you switch to a child profile, you won't be able to change to a different profile without entering your Prime Video PIN. Here's how to switch Amazon Video profiles using the Prime Video website: Navigate to the Prime Video website using the browser of your choice, and click Who's Watching? From the drop down menu, select the profile you want to use. Prime Video will immediately switch to the new profile, providing you with your custom watch list, recommendations, and more. Using Amazon Profiles on Other Devices You can also use your Prime Video profiles on devices that support the Prime Video app, like your Kindle or phone. Switching profiles works in much the same way as it does on the website, and it provides you with access to your watch list and other customization on every device where you watch Prime Video. Here's how to use Prime Video profiles on your phone: Open the Prime Video app, and select My Stuff. Select the name of the profile you are currently using. Select the profile you want to use. Your Prime Video app will immediately switch to the new profile. How Do Amazon Prime Video Profiles Work? Amazon Prime video profiles work a lot like the profiles used by other streaming services. Each profile is designed to be used by a single person, allowing that person to save their preferences, history, recommendations, and more. Here's what each profile gets: Customized recommendationsEpisode and season progressPersonal watch list Each Amazon Prime account is allowed to have up to six profiles. The first profile is the primary profile, and it's tied to the owner of the Amazon account. The remaining five profiles can be set up for either adults or children. If you already share Prime with Amazon Household, profiles are automatically shared between household members. Each Amazon Household member has their own profile automatically, and any additional profiles are also shared between both accounts. Was this page helpful? Thanks for letting us know!
