How to Screenshot on Dell Laptops With Print Screen

Taking a screenshot is a built-in feature of the Windows operating system, so for all those with Dell laptops out there, taking a screenshot is just like taking a screenshot on any other Windows 10 machine, whether Dell makes it or not.

The most efficient way to take a screenshot and save it only requires two presses of keys on your keyboard.

  1. Once you have what you want to screenshot onscreen, press the Windows Key and PrtSc (Print Screen) to take and save a screenshot.

  2. By default, screenshots save to My Computer > Pictures > Screenshots. For reference, screenshots save in the PNG format and will match the resolution of your Windows 10 machine.

When taking a screenshot, your screen will briefly flash, intending to resemble a camera's shutter, and alert you that it captured the screenshot.

How to Screenshot on Dell Laptops With Game Bar

Microsoft's Game Bar in Windows 10 is an easy-to-use utility to take screenshots quickly in any game you're currently playing.

  1. Open the Start Menu, and click the Settings cog. Select Gaming, and toggle Xbox Game Bar to On.

  2. To open the Game Bar, press the Windows Key and G. Click the Capture icon at the top of the bar.

  3. A small, new window will appear on the left-hand side of your screen. Click the left-most button, Take screenshot, to take and save a screenshot to My Computer > Videos > Captures.

    The Game Bar is capable of much more than just taking screenshots. From within the Game Bar, you can also record and broadcast gameplay with the click of a button. Furthermore, the Game Bar has other tabs with other features, like a displayable FPS counter in-game.
