How to Save YouTube Videos to Camera Roll on iOS In order to save YouTube videos to your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch's Camera Roll for offline viewing, you'll need to install an app called Documents by Readdle. This app features a built-in web browser capable of saving video files to your device, something regular iOS web browser apps can't do. Once you've downloaded and installed Documents by Readdle on your iOS device, open it. Tap the compass icon in the lower-right corner of the screen. In the address bar at the top of the screen, go to y2mate.com and tap the blue Go button. This will open the y2mate website in the app. On the y2mate website will be a search bar. You can use this to find the YouTube video you want to save by typing in your target phrase or word and tapping the red arrow button. Search results may appear as you type. Several YouTube videos will appear underneath the search bar. Tap the green Download video button beneath the video you want to download. Tap on the Download button to open the video download options in a new browser window. To get to this window, tap the icon in the lower-right corner with the number two in it, then tap the new browser window. All of this needs to be done from within the Documents by Readdle app. Do not exit the app at any time during this process. In this second browser window, scroll down until you see green Download buttons and a list of video resolutions in a chart. Once you've decided which resolution you want, tap the green Download button to the right of it. Only use these green download buttons. Any other link or graphic that says "Download" on this page is likely an ad trying to trick you. Interacting with these ads could install malware on your device or see your personal information stolen. A new screen will pop up after you press Download. Type in a file name for the video file and press the blue Done button. Your video will begin to download to the app. Tap the folder icon in the lower-left corner. Tap Downloads. You should see your downloaded video. If it's finished downloading, tap the three small dots underneath it. Tap Copy. Tap Photos. You will be asked to give Documents by Readdle access to your device's Photos. Approve this access. Tap Copy to "Photos". Your video will now be available within the iOS Photos app on your device. How to Save YouTube Videos to Your Camera Roll on Android To download YouTube videos on your Android device, you don't need to install any additional apps. Open the Google Chrome web browser on your Android device. Go to y2mate.com. In the search bar on this website, search for the YouTube video you want to download. As you type, search results should automatically appear under the search bar. When you see the video you want to download, tap the green Download button underneath it. A new browser tab will open with the embedded YouTube video and several download options below it for different resolution sizes. In general, the higher the resolution number is, the better the image quality is and the larger the file size will be. Tap the green Download button next to the version you want to download. Yet another browser tab will open, this one with a downloadable version of the YouTube video. You can watch this video if you like. When you're ready to proceed, tap the three dots in the lower-right corner of the video. Tap Download. The video will now save to your device.
