Watch free movies and classic TV shows

Retrovision was a movie streaming site at that offered free classic films for streaming. However, the website has been inaccessible for some time. There are other free online movie sites you can use instead, plus places with free TV shows.

Below is retained for reference only. There is no movie content on the website.

Retrovision's Free Streaming Movies

Retrovision splits up its movies into the following genres: Adventure, Comedy, Cartoons, Crime, Drama, Horror, Sci-Fi, Westerns, and War. Among some of those genres are subcategories to further separate the films, and it does this by name and movie — Beverly Hillbillies, Lucille Ball, Cult Films, and One Step Beyond being just a few examples.

If you'd rather search through Retrovision's movies in one place, regardless of what category they're in, you can instead just use the All Movie List page. This page shows every single movie available on the website, in a clean alphabetical list with direct links to the pages where you can stream them for free.

There's also a search tool on the Retrovision website so you that you can search for movies by title or year.

In addition to these ways of finding free movies and shows, you can use the list of tags on the side of the Retrovision website. These are bit like the aforementioned categories, so you can pick from tags like Serials, Star Trek, John Wayne, Film Noir, Dragnet, Dangerous Assignment, and many others.

If you want to get an email each time there's a new post on Retrovision, you can sign up for their free email alerts. There are two different subscriptions, one for those in the United States and one for anyone in the rest of the world, which is done so that you're sure to only get links to movies that you can actually watch in your country and that aren't restricted in your region.

Free Streaming TV Shows at Retrovision

Classic TV shows can also be found at Retrovision too. Most of the TV shows are from the 1940's to 1990's.

Retrovision's Video Quality

Video quality is rather low at Retrovision because many of the movies and TV shows are quite old.

YouTube is one example of a movie streaming website that offers high video quality for some of its films.

Retrovision's Free Movie App

There is a free mobile app for watching Retrovision's movies and TV shows called Classic UHF, but it's only available for Android devices. Also, it may not include each and every movie you can find on the website, but it is said to have most of them.

The mobile app supports watching the films on a Chromecast.

If you open Retrovision's website on a phone or tablet that isn't Android, it should resize to fit the screen perfectly, which is essentially the same as having a mobile app.

Where Retrovision Gets Its Movies

Retrovision hosts most of its own movies and TV shows, but they're all in the public domain and are free and legal to stream.

System Requirements for Retrovision

Many of the videos at Retrovision require at least 1 Mbps download speed to stream without interruption. However, the quality of some movies can be reduced by half to accommodate lower Internet speeds.
