How to Remove the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge Back Cover

Replace the battery, microSD, or SIM card for your Galaxy Note Edge

If you know how to remove the back cover of your Samsung Galaxy Note Edge, you can easily swap its battery, microSD card, or even the SIM card.

Instructions in this article apply to the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge, but these steps may also work with other Samsung Galaxy Edge devices.

How to Remove the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge Back Cover

Find the little notch on the top edge of the smartphone just below the power button. Insert your fingernail for leverage and pull back to remove the cover, giving you access to the battery, microSD, and SIM card.

Turn off your phone before removing the battery, SIM card, or memory card.

How to Replace the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge Battery

The long rectangular piece that takes up the bulk of the Note Edge’s back is the battery. Look for a recess on the bottom part of the battery slot and use your fingernail to pry it out. Place the new battery in the exact same position and lightly push down to make sure it is secure.

If your phone freezes and won't turn off, you can remove the battery and put it back in to reboot the device.

How to Replace the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge SIM card

The SIM card is the little white card in the metal holder with the word SIM inscribed below it. To remove the Galaxy Note Edge SIM card, gently press your fingernail against the left edge and push it toward the right. Slide the new card into the same slot with the gold pins facing down.

To make the process easier, remove the battery before replacing the SIM card.

How to Insert a Memory Card Into the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge

The Note Edge’s memory card slot is also behind the back cover, just to the left of the camera. The word microSD is inscribed inside it. Place your microSD card in the slot with the name and brand information facing up.

How to Replace the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge Back Cover

Once you’re all done with replacing the battery, SIM card, or memory card, it’s time to replace the Galaxy Note Edge back cover. Align the back cover with the edges and start pressing down. You will hear several audible clicks as the cover snaps back into place. Check around the edges to make sure that everything is tightly sealed.
