How to Remote Play PS5 Games on Android

PS Remote Play Requirements 

To use the PS5 Remote Play feature, you need:

• A PlayStation 5 console with properly configured Rest Mode settings.
• A compatible mobile device.
• The free PS Remote Play app.
• At least 5 Mbps broadband internet (Sony recommends 15 Mbps via a LAN cable for the best experience). 
• A PS5 game installed on the console.

How to Set up Your PlayStation 5 to Use Remote Play in Rest Mode

If your PS5 is switched off or has the wrong settings configured, you can't use Remote Play. Here's how to ensure your PS5 stays in Rest Mode and is also able to offer Remote Play.

1. Click Settings.

2. Click System.

3. Click Power Saving.

4. Click Features Available in Rest Mode.

5. Click Stay Connected to the Internet and Enable Turning on PS5 from Network.

6. Your PS5 is now set up to play via Remote Play.

How to Set up PS5 Remote Play

Before you can play games remotely via your Android smartphone, you need to set up your PS5 to allow the connection. Here's what to do.

1. On your PlayStation 5, click Settings.

2. Click System.

3. Click Remote Play.

4. Click Enable Remote Play.

5. Remote Play is now enabled on your PS5 console.

How to Play PS5 Games on Your Android Smartphone

Now that you've set up your PlayStation 5 to be able to use Remote Play, here's how to use PS Remote Play on your Android smartphone.

1. On your Android phone, go to the Google Play Store and download PS Remote Play.

2. Open the PS Remote Play app.

3. Tap Sign in to PSN.

4. Log in to your PSN account.

5. Tap Confirm and Continue.

6. Tap PS5.

7. Wait for the app to find your games console.

8. Tap the console name to connect.

9. Wait a moment for the phone to connect to the console.

10. You're now connected to your PS5 via your Android phone and can begin playing a game.

What You Can and Can't Do With PS Remote Play on Your Android Phone

There are good and bad things about what you can do via PS Remote Play. Here's a brief overview of what can and can't be done.

Can Do

• You can play most game remotely. It's possible to play any game currently installed on your PS5 via PS Remote Play. This includes both PS4 and PS5 games. Just load the game like you normally would. Disc-based games do need to be inserted in the console beforehand to do so. It's not possible to play games that use PlayStation VR or the PlayStation Camera.
• You can use touchscreen controls or a PS4 DualShock controller. It's possible to connect a PS4 controller to your Android phone and use that to control the action, or you can use touchscreen controls that are displayed on your phone while the Remote Play app is active.

Can't Do

• You can't use the PS5 DualSense controller with Remote Play. While you can connect your PS5 DualSense controller to your Android smartphone, it's not currently possible to use it within the Remote Play app.
• You can't play Blu-Ray Discs or DVDs via Remote Play. You also can't play music with Spotify via the app. Generally, anything that involves licensed video content is off-limits when using the PS Remote Play app.
