Product Key Informer v1.0.0.190

A Full Review of Product Key Informer, a Free Key Finder Tool

Product Key Informer is a free key finder program that displays product keys for some Windows operating systems and a few versions of Microsoft Office.

Right away, some of the things we like are the ability to copy keys to the clipboard and even find product keys for networked computers.

Please read our Key Finder Programs FAQ for more information on key finder programs in general.

This review is of Product Key Informer v1.0.0.190. Please let me know if there's a newer version I need to review.

Thoughts on Product Key Informer

Product Key Informer is simple to use and displays keys in an easy to read format, which makes copying out keys no problem.

That's basically the only thing to like about this program. You can't save product keys to a file like nearly every other key finder program, but copying them to the clipboard isn't a huge headache.

We also don't like how limited it is when it comes to supporting software. In vast opposition to programs like SIW and SterJo Key Finder, Product Key Informer finds product keys for a mere three programs. Also, it doesn't seem to work in Windows 10, Windows 8, or Windows 7, so unfortunately it only runs on older operating systems.

Some key finder programs can update definitions to support more programs or operating systems, but Product Key Informer doesn't appear to be able to because of its static fields for specific programs like Office 2007, etc. Also, it hasn't been updated since at least 2009, which means it likely won't ever find product keys for any new OS or software.

If you need a key that this program won't display, try a different product key finder.
