Nick Steinberg has worked in online publishing since 2014. He was hired as a staff writer for Goliath in 2015, covering topics like gaming, film, TV, and tech. In 2017, he attended E3 alongside YouTuber Charlie Rogers (SeeJayAre). The pair also started a podcast around the same time, covering the latest news and trends in video games and the larger tech world.
In 2018, Nick was promoted to Managing Editor of Goliath. In addition to managing the site’s editorial direction, he continued to write critical reviews of popular games and movies, including God of War and Avengers: Infinity War. Following his tenure at Goliath, Nick briefly worked as a content marketing writer for the education technology company ApplyBoard before branching out to pursue a full-time freelance career.
In his spare time, Nick is an audiophile and musician who keeps up on the latest and greatest in headphone technology. He enjoys staying up to date on the latest hardware and software news and is well-versed with both Android and iPhone/iOS platforms, as he has switched back and forth between both over the years. Nick also used to sell TVs in a retail environment and is an expert in the various technologies today's televisions use. Ask him about wearables anytime; he's been an avid Fitbit user, too.
In addition to Lifewire, Nick is currently a contributing writer at TechRadar, WizCase, WalletGenius, and WatchMojo.
My Gear
My main work computer is a MacBook Air 2020, but I'm hoping to upgrade to an M1 model in the future. In fact, I made a full Apple transition in 2021 by ditching my old Samsung Galaxy S8 for an iPhone 12 Mini (I like phones that still fit in my pocket!) and a pair of AirPods Pro. On the gaming side, I've had a PS5 since launch and am currently trying to get my hands on an Xbox Series X. I also own a PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PS Vita, and 3DS XL. I rely on both Google and Siri to manage my day-to-day tasks and I love my Sonos speaker!
Nick is a graduate of Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, ON and holds a BA in English Literature, with History and Philosophy minors. He may or may not have spent most of his undergrad browsing gaming and technology blogs when he should have been reading Faulkner.
I’ve always viewed my writing as a way to connect with people who share the same passions. Writing for Lifewire affords me the opportunity to not only stay up-to-date on the latest technology trends, but share that knowledge directly with readers. I’m grateful to be part of a publication that is fully committed to sharing the wonders of tech with people, while also solving their problems!
