Minecraft: Story Mode Released on Wii U

Minecraft: Story Mode has been released on Wii U! Nintendo fans rejoice

A few weeks back on December 17th, 2015, Mojang’s console variant was released on the Nintendo Wii U. Nintendo fans around the world once again rejoiced when Telltale Games and Nintendo both announced that Minecraft: Story Mode chapter one would be released on the Nintendo Wii U as well!

What Is Minecraft: Story Mode?

Minecraft: Story Mode is an episodic series created by Telltale Games based on Mojang’s video game, Minecraft. Minecraft: Story Mode follows our courageous heroes who attempt to save their Minecraft world from the destructive clutches of the Witherstorm. Players play as Jesse and make decisions based on scenarios given to them. The game features many options and paths the player can go down when making a decision. The game also features quick-time events that can alter outcomes of various situations depending on if the event was completed correctly or failed. Alongside the Wii U, Minecraft: Story Mode is currently available on Android, iOS, Microsoft Windows, OS X, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.

Purchasing Minecraft: Story Mode!

Like the other variants being released, players will purchase Minecraft: Story Mode as if it were any other episodic series released by Telltale Games in the past. To purchase Telltale Games’ series, Minecraft: Story Mode, people wanting to purchase the game will need to head into the Nintendo eShop and search for “Minecraft: Story Mode”. When the first episode is located, you may purchase and download the title for playability. In the next coming weeks, episodes two through five will be released as they become available to Nintendo consumers. Players may individually buy the separate episodes or buy a season pass for $19.99 that will garner access to upcoming episodes for that specific season.

Unlike other consoles, Telltale Games’ Nintendo variant on the game will allow off-TV play and mirroring. These features will allow players to play and experience Minecraft: Story Mode with touch-control and with the TV off (or on a different channel entirely). Allowing for touch play will let players make more immediate decisions rather than using a cursor to hover over various options within the game. This functionality can be considered a very wonderful advantage over the other versions of Minecraft: Story Mode available to the public currently.

All Aboard The Hype Train!

Many people have praised the recent Nintendo and Mojang collaborations as of the past few weeks, feeling it should have happened much sooner than it did. Many others feel elated with the new opportunities, such as Steve Singer, VP of Publisher and Developer Relations at Nintendo of America Inc. who was quoted stating, “Telltale Games is synonymous with gaming and compelling content. We are thrilled that Nintendo fans will have the opportunity to experience this first-hand with the debut of Minecraft: Story Mode on Wii U.”

Alongside Steve Singer giving his feelings on the manner, Kevin Bruner (CEO and Co-Founder of Telltale Games) has claimed, “Working with Nintendo, we’re tremendously excited to be bringing our unique style of storytelling to Wii U for the first time, and we couldn’t be happier to be kicking things off with a series like Minecraft: Story Mode that allows players of all ages to craft their own adventure across the Minecraft universe.”
