10 Funny Starter Pack Memes from Twitter and Tumblr

Have a Chuckle At These Starter Packs That Are Super Relatable

A starter pack is commonly recognized as a type of all-in-one kit that includes all the required items you need to start a new hobby or activity — like learn a new card game, grow an ant farm, sew up a pair of pants, and so on. On the internet, however, the term "starter pack" has taken on a whole new meaning.

The trend (on Twitter and Tumblr in particular) involves posting collections of pictures that would be stereotypically associated with a certain everyday situation or persona, similar to the Steal Her Look meme that also went viral. The collection of photos represents what might be included in its "starter pack," as if the situation or persona could be considered a common hobby, chore or game that anyone could get into with the right tools.

For example, the "come over and chill" starter pack might include a photo of a pair of sweatpants, a photo of a baggy T-shirt and a photo of the Netflix logo. The more relatable, stereotypical and even exaggerated the photos are in relation to the collection of photos, the funnier and more shareable the meme seems to be.

Despite the humor behind each meme, the trend has been criticized by many for being sexist, racist and just downright offensive. I went ahead and sifted through the most popular and widely shared starter pack memes on Twitter and Tumblr in search of some of the funnier, less offensive ones that I could find.

Check them out below.
