Experience

Kristin Majcher is a freelance writer for Lifewire who enjoys writing about how people use apps and social media to form communities, learn new things, and make mundane tasks easier. She also covers topics including travel, aviation, and cryptocurrencies for several other outlets. As an ex-pat in South America, she enjoys learning about technology adoption in different countries.

Kristin’s relevant experience includes:

  • Writing about technology and travel for publications including MIT Technology Review, Condé Nast Traveler, and Skift
  • Writing educational content about cryptocurrencies for MIT Horizon
  • Formerly serving as Special Projects Editor for MIT Technology Review
  • Covering the airline industry as a Deputy Editor of Aviation Week’s Aviation Daily newsletter and reporter for Flightglobal
  • Proofreading and editing technical whitepapers focused on technology topics such as smart cities

My Gear

I used to be a die-hard Apple user with all those Adobe products, but since moving abroad have adopted an Android phone and Chromebook for most of my daily work. I have a GoPro I should probably use more, too.

Education

Kristin received a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Magazine Journalism from Ohio University’s E.W. Scripps School of Journalism, with minors in Spanish and Linguistics. When she’s not writing, she teaches English classes and tries to keep a streak going on Duolingo. She has also dabbled in HTML and Python courses and is always looking for a new Coursera class to audit.
