Joe Shambro is an audio engineer and technology writer and the author of the book How to Start a Home-Based Recording Studio Business. Specializing in live sound reinforcement and recording, Joe's clientele ranges from multi-platinum pop stars to top-performing independent musicians. He has mixed for artists such as Katy Perry, The Right Now, Marc Broussard, and Maroon 5.

Joe's work has been featured in outlets worldwide, including NPR, Clear Channel Radio, The Armed Forces Network, ABC, NBC, and CNN. He even captured the final 10 space shuttle launches in high definition in cooperation with NASA's Kennedy Space Center. As a freelance writer, Joe aims to help fellow engineers of all skill levels choose the best equipment and learn new techniques for perfecting their craft, both live and in the studio.


Joe studied audio and electrical engineering at Louisiana Tech University and Southern Illinois University.
