Experience

James Coppinger is a former writer for Lifewire, where he wrote articles about CAD for more than two years. Coppinger worked in the mechanical, architectural, and civil engineering industries for two decades. He started out as a drafter on the boards, moving up to basic CAD drafting, then to designer, and on to work as CAD manager for several large design firms. His most recent position had him overseeing the technical development and CAD training for all professional staff in a 300+ person civil firm. Throughout all of this, Coppinger was a fiction writer. He has since left his engineering work and has published two successful fantasy novels.

James earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering Graphics at Thomas Edison State University in Trenton, New Jersey.
