Here are more ways to learn about the iPad.

8th Gen iPad Features

This basic iPad shares a variety of features with other versions in the line, such as compatibility with a trackpad or mouse, the (first generation) Apple Pencil and Smart Keyboard (not the newer Magic Keyboard), but there are some key differences to separate it from the pack.

  • The charger has been upgraded to 20W for fast charging via the USB-C to Lightning cable.
  • This bad boy uses the powerful A12 Bionic chipset.
  • It comes with the iOS 14 update.
  • A one year Apple TV+ subscription.
  • Includes Scribble, so you can easily enter handwritten text across apps using Apple Pencil.

Plus, it's got all the goods an iPad should have: Digital writing and sketching as always, enough power to stream movies and music, the ability to pair with Xbox or PS4 wireless controllers, and front and back cameras so you can easily FaceTime or grab great pics. Combine it all with 10 hours of battery life inside a lightweight, 100 percent recycled aluminum case and you've got a capable gem of a tablet.

If you're looking to add a little more to your new iPad, you can attach a full-size Smart Keyboard to it with no charging or pairing required.

The 8th gen does not come with the Apple Pencil, but you can easily add it to your iPad to convert it to an instant notepad, artistic canvas, or whatever else you can imagine. Remember, though, that it doesn’t work with the newer Apple Pencil, only the first generation.

It's also compatible with everyone's favorite headphones: Airpods. Head over to Apple to see all the rest of the accessories available.
