Using images with a consistent look and feel can help your work look more professional and polished. With that in mind, we'll show you how to insert clip art into a Word document.

There are some things to keep in mind when choosing clip art. You want the image to correspond with the theme of your document. It should also have a similar style to other images you've used.

This guide applies to Word for Office 365, Word for Office 365 for Mac, Word for the web, Word 2019, Word 2019 for Mac, Word 2016, Word 2013, Word 2010, and Word 2007.

Word searches for Creative Commons images by default. These are free to use by the public. While you can uncheck the Creative Commons box to search for more images, we don't recommend it, since using copyrighted images could land you in legal trouble with the copyright holders.
