How to Turn on Twitter's Night Mode on iOS and Android

Here's how to enable Twitter's night mode using an iOS or Android device:

  1. Open the Twitter app on your Android or iOS device and swipe right to bring up the menu options.

  2. Tap Settings and privacy.

  3. Tap Display and sound.

  4. Tap Dark Mode.

  5. Here you have a few options. You can turn Dark Mode on or off, or set it to turn on automatically at sunset.

  6. You can also choose your theme, either Dim or Lights Out. Tap Dim for a dark blue theme or Lights out for a purely black look.

How to Turn on Twitter's Night Mode for Windows 10 and the Web

The official Twitter app for Windows 10 is based on the web version of the social network. Due to this similar coding, the way to activate Twitter’s dark mode is the same on both the web and the Windows 10 app. Here's how to do it:

  1. Open the Windows 10 Twitter app or open Twitter.com on your preferred web browser.

  2. Select More (the ellipses) > Settings and privacy > Display.

    You can access Twitter's dark mode on the web via the More menu.

  3. Select either Dim to activate a blue-themed dark mode or Lights Out to turn on the regular black Twitter dark mode.

  4. You can further customize your Twitter dark mode on Windows 10 or the web by selecting the colored icons above the dark mode options. This changes the color of the Twitter icons and links.
