On Google’s Home Hub, Live Albums is a display option to turn the device into an intelligent photo frame. Live Albums is essentially a way to create smart photo albums. The "Live" part of this new feature is it happens automatically when a face that matches your selection is detected by Google’s artificial intelligence. If you want to display photos of your kids on Home Hub in the living room, for example, Live Albums will automatically add new photos without you having to remember to update it manually. Google Live Albums is an enhancement being integrated into Google Photos and is not exclusive to Home Hub. In fact, Home Hub is essentially only a display for Live Albums. You'll need to configure the albums on the Google Photos website or from the iOS and Android apps. What to Know About Live Albums You can select one face or multiple faces for inclusion in a Live Album.Existing photo albums in Google Photos can be updated to become Live Albums.Live Albums can be shared with more than one person.Once a Live Album is set up, you can manually select individual photos to remove them. You can also manually add photos to a Live Album in case they were missed.If you share a Live Album, you can enable others to add photos as well. Live Albums can also be used to detect pets and add them to an album automatically. What Devices Support Live Albums? Even though Home Hub is a great match for Live Albums, the smart albums will work across iOS, Android, and the Google Photos website. If you don’t currently see the feature, be sure to check for updates to the Google Photos app in the app store. The feature debuted in a staggered way but eventually made its way to everyone. Google’s Home app is focused on smart devices. While you can connect your Google Photos account through the Google Home app, photos are not manageable through the mobile Home app. The same is true of the Google Assistant app. How to Set up Google Home Hub Live Albums on Mobile Launch the Google Photos app. Once it's open, tap the Albums icon. Tap the New album box, which has a Plus (+) sign. Enter a title, then tap Automatically add photos of people & pets. Tap all the faces of people you’d like to appear in the album. Tap Turn On in the top right corner to finish the Live Album. Set up Google Home Hub Live Albums on Desktop Google Photos has largely adopted a universal design so it's familiar across all devices and platforms, including the Google Photos website. Go to photos.google.com. After signing in, select Albums on the left side. Select the New album box, which has a Plus (+) sign. Enter a title, then select Automatically add photos of people & pets. Select the faces of the people you’d like to appear in the album. Select Turn On in the top right corner.
