Google Docs—the free web browser based word processor—has a range of different templates for simplifying that process for those of us that don't want to have to make one from scratch. Unfortunately, there are no specific Google Docs flyer templates, but some of the other templates are ideal for advertising local events or if you need to issue flyers for a missing pet. Whatever your reason, here's how to make a flyer on Google Docs. These instructions apply when using Google Docs in a browser however, these options are not available in the Google Docs iOS or Android apps. There are limited capabilities in Google Docs for iPad; the template selection isn't as large, but you may be able to repurpose other templates to create a flyer. How to Make a Flyer in Google Docs Making a flyer in Google Docs doesn't take much time at all thanks to a series of Google flyer templates being made available through the site. That mean you don't have to worry about coming up with an idea. You can just get started within moments. Here's what you need to know when it comes to creating a flyer. You need to have a Google account to be able to do this. If you don't, create a new account before continuing to follow these instructions. Go to https://docs.google.com/ Click Template Gallery to expand the list of template options. Pick a template that looks suitable for your needs. Google Docs doesn't have a category solely devoted to flyers but many of the templates listed can work just as well for leafleting or as a brochure as they can for their other purposes. Click on your desired template. Enter a title for the document to save it. The flyer template is now open and saved within your Google Docs account. How to Make Changes Within the Flyer Template on Google Docs So, you've picked out a template and you're not sure what to do next. Here are suggestions on what you might want to change to suit your needs. We've used the Lively Newsletter template from the Work category but the instructions are the same for all template options. Change the text. Click on the headlines and main text and change them to the text you require. Don't forget to change to a font you prefer if you're not keen on the existing one. Change images. To change an image, click on it then click Replace Image.Change website links. If the template is intended for online use, remember to change any website details that have already been included. Click on the link then click Edit Link to change it.Save the file. Google Docs saves documents automatically so once you've finished, you can simply close the window or tab. How to Share a Flyer on Google Docs Once you've created a flyer, you might want to share it with someone else to check it looks good. Here's how to do that. Click File. Click Share. If you prefer to print the document, scroll down and click Print. Enter the email address of the person you want to share the flyer with and click Send.
