How To Play PopCap Games For Free

Where to Find These Popular Online Games and Apps

Over the years, PopCap Games has created some of the most addictive and well known casual games on the market. Titles like Bejeweled, Zuma, and Peggle have stolen countless hours of our time due to being just so hard to put down. But if you haven't yet experienced the joy of a PopCap game, there are plenty of ways you can test them out without dropping a dime. Here are a few ways to enjoy four of the developer's best games for free.

1
Bejeweled

There are several different versions of this popular match-three puzzle game and just as many ways to play it for free. You can download apps for Bejeweled Classic, Bejeweled Stars, and Bejeweled Blitz from the Apple App Store or for Android via Google Play for your mobile device or tablet. But if you're in the mood for a quick fix of jewel matching action, there's also the excellent Bejeweled Blitz on Facebook, which has you playing the game in one-minute spurts.

With the Bejeweled Stars edition, you have new ways to match the gems, lifting up gem-filled Clouds into different sections of the board to set off a cascade, moving Glaciers of gems around the board, and Currents that move strings of gems. You can connect and compete with friends, which turns it into a social game.

2
Peggle

Imagine pachinko mixed with an arcade game set in a magical land of unicorns, and you'll have Peggle: an excellent way to spend an afternoon (which may very well turn into an evening). One reason to enjoy this game is that it is non-violent and whimsical. You can enjoy this game as an app for Apple or Android products. For some versions, there is a small fee for the app.

The original Peggle is comprised of 55 levels all featuring themes from the ultra popular MMO World of Warcraft. In addition to the short single-player campaign, there's also duel and quick play modes. If you want more than the original Peggle, there is Peggle2,  Peggle Blast, and Peggle Nights.

You can download a trial version of the PC or Mac game from Pogo.com or pay to unlock the full version without time limits or ads. The apps are available on iTunes and Google Play.

3
Plants vs. Zombies

Zombies are coming and you have only zombie-zapping plants to fight them off. This may be PopCap's most addictive game with hilarious strategy. You can download a trial version of the game for PC or Mac, and there are free versions of the apps as well as paid versions. It's also available for Kindle, Nook, Xbox and Nintendo DS.

Plants vs. Zombies 2 is available for iPad, iPhone and on Google Play. They also have a Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare 2 edition that promises to be "bigger and badder." It's not free, and is available to download for PC or buy for XBoxOne or PS4.

5
Solitaire Blitz

PopCap Games

You can play Solitaire Blitz: Lost Treasures on Facebook for free, up to a point. It's a fun way to spend a work break as you play short solitaire games and collect bits of treasure to solve the mystery of who sank the King's ship. The game tempts you to buy various items with your collected treasure or actual money, of course. You can see your Facebook friends who also play the game and what their scores are.

To take it with you, download the free iPad or iPhone app. These also have in-app purchases available.
