Here's how to change your Spotify password or reset it when you've forgotten the current password. The instructions in this article apply to Windows and Mac computers, as well as iOS and Android devices. How to Change a Spotify Password To change your Spotify Password, you have to log into your account via Spotify's website. This applies to those who use the streaming app on either Windows or macOS, and to those who use it on iOS or Android. You can change your Spotify password by logging into your account via the Spotify website. This method assumes you can remember your current Spotify password. If you've forgotten it, follow the instructions in the next section. Go to Spotify's website and click Log In in the top-right corner of the homepage. Enter your username/email address and current password. Alternatively, you can log in with Facebook, if that's how you usually access your account. If you no longer want to use this login method, you can disconnect Spotify from Facebook. Click Profile on the top right, and select Account from the drop-down menu. Click Change Password in the left-hand menu. Enter your current password into the Current password field. Enter your new password into the New password field, then once more into the Repeat new password field. Click SET NEW PASSWORD. Once the password has been changed you should see a "Password updated" message. How to Reset Spotify Password When You've Forgotten It Changing your Spotify password is more complicated when you've forgotten it. When you don't know the current Spotify password, you can reset it in a few steps. Go to Spotify's website and click Log In in the top-right corner of the homepage. Click Forgot your password? Enter the email address or username associated with your account. Click SEND. Log into the email account you've associated with Spotify and look for the reset password email. Open this email and click Reset Password. Enter a new password into the New password field, then again into the Repeat new password field. Click the I'm not a robot Captcha box. Click SEND. After creating your new password, you should store it someplace safe and easily accessible. Consider using a password manager, which takes the hassle out of recalling dozens or hundreds of random symbols.
