To sign up for a Gmail account, first access the Create Your Google Account page on Google's website.

Start with the basics: Enter your first and last name in the Name section.

Tip: If you're signing up for a new Gmail account because you've misplaced the password to your existing one, try recovering your forgotten Gmail password first. You might be able to avoid making a whole new account.

Choose a Username

Type your desired user name under "Choose your username".

Type your desired username under Choose your username.

Your Gmail email address will be that username followed by "@gmail.com." For example, the example username would mean that your full Gmail email address would be example@gmail.com

Tip: You don't have to worry about periods in your username. For example, someone could send mail to example.name@gmail.com, exa.mple.na.me@gmail.com, or e.x.ample.nam.e@gmail.com, and they'll all go to the same account. Also, example@googlemail.com would work, too.
