Instead of taking a pile of audio CDs on your next journey, why not use the iTunes software to create your very own mix CD of your favorite songs. How to Make an MP3 CD With iTunes Configuring iTunes to create an MP3 CD: By default iTunes isn't setup to burn an MP3 CD and so you first need to go into the program's preferences and change the disc format that will be written to the CD. To do this:Click on the Edit tab at the top of the screen and select Preferences from the drop-down menu.On the preferences screen, click the Advanced tab, followed by the Burning tab. Select the radio button next to MP3 CD to set the disc format. Click OK to save and exit the preferences.Create a playlist of all the songs that you want on your MP3 CD. If you're using a standard 80 minute CD, then you can add songs to the playlist up to 700Mb (displayed at the bottom of the playlist screen). If you do go over the capacity of the blank CD, then iTunes will ask for a further blank to be inserted during the CD burning process.When you are happy with your compilation, insert a blank CD > click on the custom playlist that you want to burn, and click on the Burn MP3 CD button at the bottom of the screen.
