To install or update Adobe Flash Player for macOS, follow the instructions below. How to Install Adobe Flash Player for Mac Launch your web browser and navigate to the official Adobe Flash download page. Select the drop-down menu labeled Step 1, then choose Mac OS X <version>. Using the Step 2 drop-down menu, click the option corresponding with the browser or browsers you use most often. In this example, we’ve selected Safari and Firefox. Click Download now, located in the lower right-hand corner of the page. A DMG file will now be downloaded. Locate this DMG file in your browser’s default download location, typically the Downloads folder or your Desktop. Click this file to begin the installation process. A new disk image labeled Flash Player should appear once the DMG has been extracted. Double-click Install Adobe Flash Player, located within this newly-created image. You may see a warning at this point, noting that Install Adobe Flash Player has been downloaded from the internet and asking if you trust its origin. You’ll need to confirm your acceptance in order to continue. The Adobe Flash Player Installer should now appear, overlaying your other open windows. Click I have read and agree to the terms... Click Install. If prompted, enter your macOS password and click Install Helper. A confirmation message will appear once the installation is completed. Click Done. Enter your macOS password again when prompted and click Add Helper to complete the process. How to Update Adobe Flash Player for Mac Once Flash is installed on your Mac, it’s important it remains up-to-date for both security and functionality purposes. As you follow along with these instructions, remember to only accept Flash updates originating from Adobe, as there are different forms of malware that mask themselves as such. Click the Apple menu icon, located in the upper left-hand corner of the screen. When the drop-down menu appears, select System Preferences. Click Flash Player, located in the lower left-hand corner of the System Preferences interface. Click Updates. Click Check Now. You can also decide how Flash Player updates are regularly installed. Click Allow Adobe to install updates so you don't miss any important enhancements or security patches going forward. Your system will now check to see if an update is available. If there is one, click Yes and follow the subsequent on-screen prompts to install it. If not, click OK and close the System Preferences window.
