How to Get Rid of Ads Using Hulu's No Ads Option

Love watching TV and movies on Hulu, but hate watching ads? For just a few dollars a month, you can watch Hulu without ads. Here's what you need to know about how to sign up for and enjoy Hulu No Ads.

How to Sign up for the Hulu No Ads Plan

If you have a Hulu account and want to watch Hulu without commercials, just follow these steps:

Looking to remove commercials with Hulu No Ads from one of Hulu's mobile or smart device apps? You won't find the option, because you can't change your subscription there. You can only change your subscription plan to add the commercial-free option on the web.

In a web browser, go to Hulu.com and log into your account.
In the top right corner, hover your mouse over your name. In the drop down menu, click Account.
In the Your Subscription section, click Manage Plan.
Find the Hulu No Ads option you want. To add it on to standard Hulu plans, check the Plans section. To add it to a bundle, go to Packages.
When you find the plan you want to add No Ads to, click the slider to enable that plan or bundle.
Click Review Changes.
The next screen shows the change you're making, what it will cost you, and what your upcoming monthly costs will be. To add Hulu No Ads to your plan, click Submit.

How to Watch Hulu Without Ads

When you watch Hulu, there are ads inserted into your shows and movies, just like on regular TV. We're all used to our entertainment being interrupted by ads, but no one likes it—and you don't have to put up with it.

Hulu No Ads is an upgraded version of the standard Hulu account that removes ads from almost all content.

Using Hulu No Ads saves time, lets you watch more content, and is a better viewing experience. The only ads you'll see are a short announcement before an episode letting you know when you can watch new episodes of the series live (if the series you're watching is still releasing new episodes, that is).

Hulu No Ads is also your only option for a commercial-free Hulu. You can't use standard web browser ad blockers with Hulu.

Hulu No Ads blocks almost all ads, but there are a few shows that have them no matter what. Hulu's contract with the owners of some series mean you'll see a short ad before and after each episode. They don't have ads in the middle of the show, though. As of this writing, the only shows that have these ads are Grey’s Anatomy, How to Get Away with Murder, and Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

How Much is Hulu No Ads?

Hulu No Ads is an add-on to existing Hulu plans. So, if you have the standard Hulu account, or a bundle that includes Disney+ or the Hulu Live TV service, you'll pay a few extra dollars a month to block ads.

The exact amount you'll pay for No Ads varies, but expect to pay around $6 a month extra. Go to the Hulu pricing page to get the latest deals.
