Fortnite is one of the most popular online games available today, and many fans rejoiced when Epic Games first made it possible to get Fortnite on Android.

Originally, the Fortnite Android beta was compatible only with the latest Samsung devices. Later, it was accessible only to those who had compatible code. Epic Games has since broadened its compatibility for the Fornite Android beta to a range of device brands and shared the device specifications required for installation. You still won't be able to find it on Google Play, however, because Epic Games self-publishes the game.

At the time of writing, Epic Games supports the beta on the following Samsung devices:

  • Galaxy S7 and S7 edge
  • Galaxy S8 and S8+
  • Galaxy S9 and S9+
  • Galaxy Note 8 and 9
  • Galaxy Tab S3 and Tab S4

For other devices on which the beta will play, visit Epic Games' Fortnite Android Beta site.

If you have a compatible Samsung device, you can also access the beta from the Galaxy Store.

System Requirements for Fortnite Android Beta

If your Android smartphone isn't on the list of compatible devices, you may still be able to install the Fortnite Android beta if the device has the following minimum specifications:

  • Operating system: Android 8.0 Oreo or later, 64 bit
  • RAM: 3 gigabytes or more
  • Processor: Adreno 530 or later; Mali-G71 MP20 or Mali-G72 MP12 or later

Revoke Android Security Permissions

When the Fornite Android beta is set up, you can revoke the permissions you granted to install the Fortnite launcher.

Epic Games recommends that you keep Fortnite Installer on your Android device to more easily install updates.

To revoke the security permissions, on your Android device, select Settings > Apps & notifications > Special access > Install unknown apps. For Fortnite Installer, turn off the Allow from this source toggle.
