Samsung's virtual personal assistant, Bixby, has a lot of interesting features, such as allowing users to identify and purchase products using the viewfinder in their smartphone's camera app, but many Samsung smartphone users would prefer the feature be disabled.

Samsung devices including the Galaxy S8, Galaxy S9, Galaxy Note 8, and Galaxy Note 9 all feature Bixby and its Bixby button. The recently released Galaxy Note 9 features the new Bixby 2.0 software and doesn't have settings allowing users to turn off the Bixby button. Luckily, Galaxy Note 9 users can still mute the Bixby Home and Bixby Voice features so they don't become a bother.

Read on to learn how to disable Bixby features on certain Samsung devices.

Once verified, users will be able to sign in according to the above instructions.

How to Disable Bixby Button

Users can accidentally press the Bixby key, located on the left side of many Samsung devices, and below the volume rockers. If Bixby isn't set up, this will prompt users to set up the feature. If Bixby is set up, users are brought to the Bixby Homepage. Either way, this action is typically a distraction from what users were actually doing on their smartphones.

With the Bixby button, Bixby Home, and Bixby Voice disabled, the smart assistant feature is almost completely shut down; some Bixby features, such as Bixby Vision in the camera app, will still work.

If users don't want to use Bixby Vision, they should skip the set up of this feature and not select the Bixby Vision option while using the Samsung camera app.
