How to Log Into Samsung Account to Turn off Bixby Features

Before users can disable Bixby features, they must first log in to their Samsung account to access Bixby settings.

  1. Select the Bixby button or swipe right on the device screen to access Bixby Home.

  2. Select Next.

  3. Select a language for Bixby Voice.

  4. Select Sign In.

  5. Enter the Samsung account username and password, then confirm the login.

How to Disable Bixby Button

Users can accidentally press the Bixby key, located on the left side of many Samsung devices, and below the volume rockers. If you have not set up Bixby, this will prompt users to set up the feature. If you have set up Bixby, the Bixby Homepage opens. Either way, this action is typically a distraction from what users were doing on their smartphones.

Disabling the Bixby key on the Galaxy S10, Galaxy S9, Galaxy S8, and Galaxy Note 8 is very simple; the settings are easily accessible from Bixby Home. This function also makes it easy to turn the Bixby button back on.

If you don't have a Samsung account, you will have to create one. The Sign In window also includes an option for users to create an account. Select this option, fill out the required information, and confirm the terms and conditions. You will receive an email to verify the account set up. Once verified, you will be able to sign in according to the above instructions.

Even after the Bixby Home screen is disabled from the Bixby button, users can still access it by swiping right on the left side of the screen.

  1. Long press any empty space on your device screen.

  2. Swipe left until you see the Bixby Home screen tile.

  3. Toggle Bixby Home off.

How to Disable Bixby Voice

Disabling Bixby Voice has a few more steps, but is also relatively simple.

To disable Bixby Voice on the Galaxy S8, Galaxy S9, Galaxy Note 8, and Galaxy Note 9:

  1. Select the three-dot menu icon at the top right corner of the screen

  2. Select Settings.

  3. Toggle the Bixby Voice option off.

Bixby Features You Don't Have to Disable

With the Bixby button, Bixby Home, and Bixby Voice disabled, the smart assistant feature is almost completely shut down; some Bixby features, such as Bixby Vision in the camera app, will still work.

If users don't want to use Bixby Vision, they should skip the set up of this feature and not select the Bixby Vision option while using the Samsung camera app.
