Whether you’ve decided to cook more at home or have switched to an Uber Eats alternative, the process of deactivating your Uber Eats account is straightforward and only takes a few minutes.

While most people use the Uber Eats smartphone apps for placing orders, they can’t be used to close an account. To delete an Uber Eats account, you need to use the Uber Eats website via a web browser such as Google Chrome, Firefox, Microsoft Edge, or Brave.

1. Open your preferred web browser on your computer, smartphone, or tablet and go to the official Uber Eats website.

2. Select Sign In.

3. Enter the email address or mobile number associated with your Uber Eats account and select Next.

4. Type your password and select Next again.

5. If you have 2FA enabled on your account, you will be sent a four digit code to your mobile phone via a text message within a minute or so. Once you receive this code, enter it into the field on the website and select Verify. You should now be logged into your Uber Eats account on the website.

6. Select your account name in the top-right corner.

7. Select Help.

8. Select the Account and Payment Options heading.

9. Select Delete my Uber Eats account.

10. A new browser tab will open and you’ll be asked to enter your password again. Type it into the field and select Next.

11. You will be shown all of your connected Uber services that are linked to your account. When you’re ready, click Continue.

    Deleting your Uber Eats account will also delete your main Uber account.

12. Choose a reason for your account deletion.

13. Select Delete account to confirm the deletion process.

14. A small confirmation message will appear on screen to let you know that your request has been processed. You will now be logged out of your Uber account on the web and on all of your apps. Your account will be deleted within 30 days.

What Happens When I Delete My Uber Eats Account?

Once you submit your Uber Eats account deletion request, your account will be deactivated and you’ll be logged out. Your data won’t be deleted for another 30 days, however, and in this time you can reactivate your account if you change your mind.

While most of your account data will be deleted from Uber’s servers after the 30 day period is up, the company will retain some unspecified information on your account usage.

How to Reactivate Your Uber Eats Account

If you change your mind about closing your Uber Eats account, you can reactivate it at any time within 30 days of when you began the deactivation process.

This can be done simply by going to the Uber Eats website or opening the Uber Eats app and logging in. Once you’ve logged in, nothing else needs to be done.

• Uber Eats app: This is the best way to get support on specific order deliveries. Usually after an order has been delivered, the app will show you an option to give feedback or file a complaint.
• Uber Support on Twitter: The official Uber Support Twitter account is one of the fastest ways to get a response. Simply @ mention the account in a tweet or send them a DM.
• Uber Eats customer care phone number: You can call Uber Eats on (800) 253-6882 to speak to a person but wait times may be long and you’ll likely get a faster response on Twitter or via the in-app support form.
• Uber Eats email support: You can email Uber Eats via eats@uber.com but getting a response may take a day or two and you may not get a reply at all. The above contact methods are well worth trying before sending an email.
