Turn on Show Siri Suggestions in App.Add an email event: Tap the underlined date or time and choose Create Event. Make any changes on the New Event screen and tap Add.Add a Messages event: Tap the underlined event information and select Create Event. Make adjustments to the entry and tap Add. This article explains how to add or suggest Calendar events from information in the Mail app, Messages app, and Safari browser. It also includes information on adding the suggested events to the Calendar app on iPhones running iOS 12 and up. Use Siri to Find Events in Other Apps You can set up your iPhone so that Siri suggests events it locates in the Mail app, Messages app, and Safari, such as meeting times or reservations. Then you can opt to add them to the Calendar app. For example, if an email reads, "How about dinner tonight at 8 p.m.? Or would you prefer Wednesday around 7 p.m.?" the Mail app underlines these times to make it easy to add one or both to your calendar. You need to enable Siri for this function, though. Here's how. Open the iPhone Settings app. Scroll down and select Calendar. Choose Siri & Search. Turn on the slider next to Show Siri Suggestions in App. Now Siri flags events that occur in these apps on the iPhone by underlining them so you can add them to your Calendar app. How to Add Email Events to Your Calendar To add email events to the Calendar app using the date or time flagged in the email, follow these steps. Tap the underlined date or time in the message and then choose Create Event to open the New Event screen. You can also go to the top of the email and tap Add in the banner that says "Siri found 1 event" to go directly to the New Event screen. Fill out the calendar event. Choose a title if it wasn't already chosen, enter a location, and add notes. Also, verify that the date and time are accurate and make any needed changes. Choose Add to save the email event details to your calendar. How to Add Messages Events to Calendar If you frequently receive appointment reminders via the Messages app, you can add the events to your calendar directly from the Messages app, just as you can from an email. In the Messages app, tap the underlined appointment or event. Then, tap Create Event in the menu that opens. Make changes or additions to the entry. This is where you set alerts and designate which calendar to use. Make sure the name is something you recognize. The name appears on the calendar. Choose Add to add the event to the Calendar app. View the Calendar app when it opens to confirm that the event appears on the correct date and at the correct time. Add Appointments From Safari to Calendar In a similar manner to the Mail and Messages apps, confirmed listings in the Safari browser—such as confirmation for plane reservations or hotel dates that you make on a web page—give you the option to click them in the browser and add them to your calendar.
