Set it up out of the box and use your phone to easily record, edit, or share your latest GoPro videos. How to Connect GoPro to Your Android Phone Download the GoPro app from the Google Play Store. Open the store and search for "GoPro" to find the app. It's free, but it does offer in-app purchases. Once the app is downloaded and installed on your Android device, you'll need to pair your GoPro camera to your device. Press the Mode button on the GoPro to select the camera's Setup menu. Depending on the model of GoPro you have, you'll want to select either Pair or Connection to pair it through the GoPro app. You can pair either through a Wi-Fi connection or a Bluetooth connection. Wi-Fi is a better pairing option since it's faster, more stable, and more secure, but Bluetooth can also be useful, as it allows the devices to remain connected even if there isn't a Wi-Fi signal. On your Android device, open the GoPro app. Find your GoPro device on the app and tap it to pair the two together. You'll be prompted to enter the code that appears on your GoPro's screen. Why Pair Android Device to GoPro? Once the two devices are paired together you can control the GoPro from your phone. You'll be able to see what your GoPro sees, set it to start and stop, and control the different modes it shoots in. The quality of the video on your Android will be of a reduced quality, but when you view the actual video file, the quality will be the same level you're used to from your GoPro. You can also easily download, edit, and share your GoPro videos through the app. Play around with the options in the Media section of the app to discover everything you can do with it.
