How to Clear Cookies on Android

Remove them from Chrome, Samsung Internet Browser, Firefox, Opera, and Others

Cookies are small text files that some websites place on your computer so they can remember who you are next time you visit. The files contain information about you, including your name, location, and preferences.

On desktops and mobile, cookies work exactly the same and are easy to remove.

Here's how to clear cookies on Android mobile web browsers including Chrome, Firefox, Samsung Internet, Opera, and others.

The information below should apply no matter who made your Android phone: Samsung, Google, Huawei, Xiaomi, etc.

Clear Cookies on Chrome

  1. Tap the three-dot menu icon.

  2. Tap Settings.

  3. Scroll down to the Advanced section and tap Privacy.

  4. Scroll to the bottom and tap Clear browsing data.

  5. Tap Cookies and site data.

  6. Tap Clear Data.

Tap the down arrow next to All time to delete cookies from a specified period: Last hour, Last 24 hours, Last 7 days, or Last 4 weeks.

Clear Cookies on Firefox

  1. Tap the three-dot menu icon.

  2. Tap Settings.

  5. Tap Clear Data.

Clear Cookies on Samsung Internet

  1. Tap the three-stacked line menu icon.

  2. Tap Settings.

  4. Tap Delete browsing data.

  6. Tap Delete.

You can also disable cookies by toggling the switch next to Accept cookies to off. 

Clear Cookies on Opera

  1. Tap the menu icon in the top left of your screen.

  2. Tap Settings.

  3. Scroll down to the Privacy section and tap Clear browsing data.

  4. On the pop-up screen, tap the checkbox next to Clear cookies and data.

  5. Tap OK.

You can adjust cookie settings in the Privacy section too. Tap Cookies, then choose Disabled or Enabled, excluding third-party.

Clear Cookies on Microsoft Edge

  1. Tap the three-dot menu at the top right of your screen.

  2. Tap Settings.

  1. Tap the three-dot menu icon.
