You can change the watch face on your Apple Watch to fit your wardrobe, mood, or personal needs for the day. The watch has a number of different faces available, ranging from some simple designs that just tell you the time, to a few unique designs that tel time a little differently than you might be accustomed to. Faces can be easily changed on a whim, so you don’t have to stick with anything too long, unless you want to.

The first few times you do it, it might be a little confusing swapping out your watch face. Apple has created a pretty thorough tutorial video on how to change the face on your watch, and we’ve put together such step-by-step directions, below, to help you make it happen as well.

1. Press and hold firmly on your current watch face

If you’ve ever removed an app from your iPhone’s home screen, then this step is going to seem very familiar. Press down on the face of your Apple Watch, and then hold your finger down on the screen until the Faces gallery comes up on the device.

2. Find the watch face you want

Swipe across the screen until you come across the watch face you’d like to use. If you’re ready to use it as-is, then just tap on it to select it as your face. If you want to customize it a bit, then move on to step three.

3. Customize

To Customize a watch face tap the small “Customize” button below the face from the Faces gallery. From there a customization menu for the face you’ve selected will launch. At the top of the page you’ll see several dots, each corresponding to a part of the watch face you can customize. Use the digital crown to adjust things like the color and detail shown on the watch face, or to add additional information like when the sun sets and what the weather’s like outside. Once you’re done with all of your selections, tap the digital crown to exit the customization menu, and then tap the watch face to select it.
