How to Manage Microsoft Edge Autofill Settings

Enable, disable, and customize autofill on the Edge browser

The Microsoft Edge web browser can automatically complete forms, enter passwords, and fill in card information for you. Learn how to manage Microsoft Edge settings to autofill forms and add, delete, or change saved information.

Instructions in this article apply to Microsoft Edge on Windows 10 and Microsoft Edge Legacy on Windows 10, Windows 8, and Windows 7.

How to Manage Microsoft Edge Autofill Settings

You can set up Microsoft Edge autofill settings the way you want to fill out your name, address, and other information in forms online. With this data, Edge will autofill forms quickly and easily.

  1. Open Microsoft Edge from a shortcut, or enter Edge into the Windows Search box and select Open on the Microsoft Edge web browser option that appears in the search results. A new Edge browser window will open.

  2. Select Settings and More, which is represented by three dots in the upper-right corner of the Edge browser window.

  3. Select Settings from the bottom of the drop-down list that appears. The Settings window will open.

  4. Select Profiles in the left pane of the Settings window.

  5. Select Addresses and More in the Profile section.

  6. Select the Save and fill addresses toggle to enable it.

  7. Select Add Address. The Add Address popup will appear.

  8. Enter the information you want to use to autofill forms and select Save.

  9. Close the Settings window.

To delete or change previously saved information, select More Actions at the right end of a saved address. Select Edit to change the information or choose Delete to remove it completely.

How to Manage Payment Information in Microsoft Edge Settings

Microsoft Edge will ask if you want to save your payment information if you use a card to make a payment or purchase online. Once credit or debit card numbers are stored in the browser, Edge will autofill the information as needed. 

  1. Open Microsoft Edge.

  2. Select Settings and More, represented by three dots in the upper-right corner of the Edge browser window.

  3. Select Settings from the bottom of the drop-down list that appears.

  4. Select Profiles in the left pane of the Settings window.

  5. Select Payment Info.

  6. Select the Save and fill payment info toggle to turn it on.

  7. Select Add Card, enter the card information you want to use to autofill forms, then select Save.

  8. Close the Settings window.

How to Manage Autofill Settings in the Legacy Version of Microsoft Edge

AutoComplete in Microsoft Edge Legacy will complete your name, address, and other info in web forms once you enable it.

  1. Open Microsoft Edge.

  2. Select Settings and More, represented by three dots in the upper-right corner of the Edge browser window, then select Settings.

  3. Select Passwords & autofill, then select the Save form data toggle to turn it on.

  4. Select Manage forms to change any of your info for AutoComplete.

  5. Select Add New, enter the information you want to use to autofill forms, then select Save.
