Find and Change Your Gmail Signature on Your Computer

When you’re ready to update your contact information, here's how to find your existing Gmail signature, then make your changes.

1. Go to Gmail and sign into your Google account.

2. Select Settings (gear icon).

3. Select See all settings.

4. Select the General tab.

5. Scroll down to the Signature section and make any changes you want.

6. When you're finished, scroll to the bottom of the page and select Save Changes.

Change the Look of Your Gmail Signature

There are many ways to change your Gmail signature's appearance, edit the text to update your contact information, or create a fresh look with text formatting and new images. You'll find everything you need in the Formatting toolbar.

Here are a few ideas to update the style of your Gmail signature:

• Change the text formatting: Select the text, then change the font and size. Or add bold, italic, underline, or a color to the selected text.
• Link to your website: Select the text, then select Link. Type the URL of the website in the To what URL should this link go? text box and select OK.
• Add your profile picture or logo: Place the cursor, then select Insert Image.

When you’re done making changes, scroll to the bottom of the page and select Save Changes.

Troubleshooting: Can’t Add Text Formatting

If you can’t add text formatting to your signature, you might be working in plain text mode. To turn off plain text:

1. Select Compose to open a new message.

2. Select More options (three dots).

3. Remove the check next to Plain text mode.

Changing the Signature for Multiple Accounts

If you use several Gmail email addresses, or if you use the Send mail as feature, give each email address a different signature. To change the signature for a different account, go to the Signature section and select the signature you want to edit from the drop-down list.

Change Your Gmail Signature on an Android Device

The Gmail signature you set up for Gmail on the web is separate from the signature in the Gmail app for Android. Here’s how to change your Gmail signature from your Android phone or tablet:

1. Open the Gmail app and tap Menu > Settings.

2. Choose the Google account you want to change.

3. Tap Mobile Signature.

4. Edit the text to make your changes. To span text across several lines, press Enter at the end of a line.

5. When you’re finished making changes, tap OK.

Change Your Gmail Signature on an iPhone or iPad

As on an Android, the Gmail signature you use on your iPhone and iPad is different than the signature used in Gmail on the web.

Here’s how to change your Gmail signature from your iPhone and iPad:

1. Open the Gmail app.

2. Tap Menu > Settings.

3. Choose the Google account you want to change.

4. Tap Signature settings.

5. Turn on the Signature setting.

6. Type in your signature.

7. Tap Back to save your changes.
